World Tourism Day 2026 in Torrevieja

Torrevieja celebrates World Tourism Day with a programme for residents and visitors. From 25 to 27 September, the city will host guided visits, nature routes, museum open days, biodiversity workshops, sporting activities and gastronomic events.

The programme forms part of the UN Tourism theme for 2026: “Digital agenda and artificial intelligence to redesign tourism”.

Friday, 25 September

9:00–11:00 a.m. · Guided visit to the Fish Market 

Visit in Spanish and English. Meeting point at the Fish Market. Maximum 50 participants. Advance registration at the Tourist Office is required.

Saturday, 26 September

9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. · Biodiversity and Video Games for More Sustainable Tourism

Outdoor workshops organised by the University of Alicante.

Location: University of Alicante premises in the AGAMED building, Calle Concepción.

10:00 a.m. · “A Vineyard of Sand and Salt” eco-route

Departure from the Visitor Centre of La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park. Maximum 50 participants. Advance registration at the Tourist Office is required.

International Tapa’s Day

A gastronomic event organised by the local Hospitality Association.

Sunday, 27 September

9:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. · Floating Museums Open Day

Free admission to Torrevieja’s Floating Museums.

10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 5:00–8:00 p.m. · Museum of the Sea and Salt Open Day

Free admission.

10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon · “The Salty History of the Lagoons” dramatised route

A journey through the history of the Torrevieja saltworks.

Location: La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park, beside the cemetery. Maximum 50 participants. Advance registration at the Tourist Office is required.

9:30–10:15 a.m. · Body Combat

Location: Playa de Los Locos.

10:30–11:15 a.m. · Zumba
