Los Náufragos Beach
The Blue Flag confirms that this is an outstanding beach. It is long…
Los Locos Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Torrevieja. It is located between Punta del Salaret and Cala del Palangre, in a comfortable and easily accessible urban setting.
Its curious name comes from the former sanatorium opened in the area by Dr Mariano Ruiz Cánovas in the early 20th century, which led the beach to become popularly known as Los Locos Beach.
Most of the beach is made up of fine sand, although it also has a stretch of around 200 metres of rocky coastline, equipped with steps to make access in and out of the sea easier.
Wide and extensive, Los Locos offers services designed for a comfortable day at the beach. Along Avenida Dr. Mariano Ruiz Cánovas there are several restaurants and cafés, and the beach also has a beach bar, sunbed and sunshade areas, and children’s play facilities.
This beach offers an assisted bathing service for people with reduced mobility from 15 June to 15 September, between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm and between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Advance booking is required by calling 670 563 022. The service is only available when the green flag is flying.
Torrevieja is holding environmental activities on different beaches to learn more about the marine environment, encourage good practices and promote the care of the Mediterranean. On this beach, the activity will take place on 29 July 2026. You can check the location of the activities here: Environmental activities on the beaches.
