Los Náufragos Beach
The Blue Flag confirms that this is an outstanding beach. It is long…
The Juan Aparicio Promenade, also known as the Paseo Marítimo or Paseo de las Rocas, is one of the most emblematic seafront areas in Torrevieja. Stretching from Paseo de la Libertad to Avenida de los Marineros, it offers a privileged route along the Mediterranean.
Its layout, with stone breakwaters, protects the coastline and creates sheltered bathing areas, as well as spacious platforms and rest areas by the sea.
Along the promenade, visitors will find two of the city’s most representative monuments: the Monument to the Man of the Sea and the sculpture of La Bella Lola, one of the most photographed landmarks in Torrevieja. Created by Carmen Fraile, this sculpture pays tribute to the sailor’s wife and represents her waiting for his return, becoming a symbolic image of Torrevieja’s seafaring tradition.
In 2009, to mark the twinning of Torrevieja and Oviedo, a replica of La Bella Lola was donated to the Asturian city, where it can be seen in Plaza del Fontán, extending the sculpture’s symbolic significance beyond Torrevieja itself.
