Los Náufragos Beach
The Blue Flag confirms that this is an outstanding beach. It is long…
Plaza de Oriente is one of the most emblematic pedestrian squares in the heart of Torrevieja. Located just a few metres from the seafront promenade, it is known locally as Plaza de la Ermita, a name that recalls the former Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which once stood on this very site.
Today, the square is presided over by the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inaugurated in 2009 and inspired by the original church. Its contemporary design reinterprets traditional elements, making it one of the architectural landmarks of the city centre.
Surrounded by cafés and restaurants with outdoor terraces, the square combines landscaped areas, benches, and a children’s play area in a pleasant, open setting — ideal for taking a break while exploring the city.
It also has a 24-hour paid underground car park, making this central location easy to reach.
