Opened on 4th February 1995, it is Torrevieja’s main ethnological museum and an essential place for understanding the city’s origins and evolution, which have been linked since its inception to the sea and salt production.
Its galleries display objects related to salt production, small-scale fishing, coastal shipping and shipbuilding, as well as archaeological finds, historical photographs, ship models and examples of salt-related crafts, such as the traditional salt boats, a tradition unique in the world.
