Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Church

Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Church, situated in Plaza de Oriente, is one of the most iconic churches in the centre of Torrevieja. 

The current building was inaugurated in 2009 on the site formerly occupied by the old chapel built in 1922, which is closely linked to the history of the neighbourhood.

Its contemporary design reinterprets traditional elements, blending into the urban environment with a sober and distinctive architectural style. The spacious and light-filled interior hosts regular religious services and plays an active role in the town’s parish life.

Due to its central location and symbolic significance, it is one of the highlights of a tour of the town centre.
